The Job
• A permanent, term time only role from January 2027 (subject to recruitment checks).• 4 days per week, Monday to Friday (with additional hours supporting student performances/ rehearsals during the evening and at weekends as required). Hours can be considered on an individual and flexible basis. (This role may be suitable for a job share for the right candidates).• Regular Saturday morning work is required, plus some evening and additional weekend work.• The role will focus on caretaking the Woodwind, Brass and Percussion Department. The successful candidate(s) will support our Woodwind, Brass & Percussion students to continue to reach the highest of musical standards within a nurturing environment, focussed on personal growth and wellbeing. Able to inspire, teach and support all levels of students alike, candidates will equally be capable of working at management level – liaising with parent and the wider staff team.

Requirements

Secondary or university education in music – playing the relevant instrument (in case of exceptional talent or artistic personality or an outstanding and widely recognised expert in the field, the qualification requirements may be waived);

About Dalasinfoniettan
Dalasinfoniettan is a chamber orchestra active in the beautiful and culturally rich region of Dalecarlia. The orchestra consists of 28 full-time musicians.
Dalasinfoniettan has performed with international soloists such as Janine Jansen, Evelyn Glennie, Martin Fröst and Víkingur Ólafsson. The orchestra enjoys regular collaborations with Roberto González-Monjas, Malin Broman, Tobias Ringborg, Chloé van Soeterstède and Ariel Zuckermann amongst others. Chief conductor from 2024 is Claire Levacher and our 1:st guest conductor from 2027 is Simon Crawford-Phillips.
Dalasinfoniettan is a flexible orchestra playing in different genres such as folk, jazz and pop in addition to the classical repertoire. All members of the orchestra play chamber music and take part in projects aimed at schools, reaching a broad range of audiences across the whole of Dalecarlia. In 2027, we will move into a new concert hall in the heart of Falun.

Tapiola Sinfonietta is calling for applications for a Principal Flute. The principal together with the sub-principal leads the section with courageous and visionary example in co-operation with the concertmasters and other section leaders. The principal is responsible for the flute ensemble playing and making sure the work is divided evenly among the section’s players as well as maintaining soloistic preparedness. The duties also include playing the following auxiliary instruments: piccolo, alto flute, and wooden flute. Audience outreach and chamber music in smaller ensembles are a vital part of the Tapiola Sinfonietta’s activities and the musician’s job description.

The Reina Sofía School of Music announces an opening for the position of Piccolo Professor, within the Flute Chair, led by the proffesor Jacques Zoon. The Flute Chair will have 6 students in the 2026–27 academic year.

The English piccolo professor’s responsibilities include:
– Approximately 90 hours per year of teaching collaboration, expandable depending on needs and prior written agreement with the School.
– Providing one hour of joint work per student within the piccolo course module, with scheduling agreed in advance.
– Availability to attend concerts and activities outside teaching hours, both within and outside the School premises.
– Participation in orchestral repertoire exam panels (mock tests), held in January and April.
– Participation in entrance audition panels for the Chair, held in March.
– Developing technique, sound, and integrated musical skills within piccolo repertoire in a high-performance environment.
– Encouraging students’ self-critical thinking and initiative in individualized study through detailed score analysis.
– Providing guidance on stylistically appropriate interpretation of repertoire.
– Participation in Chair faculty meetings once per trimester.
– Providing constructive feedback and student evaluations quarterly. Being qualified to sign official grading records annually.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
– Degree: Spanish Higher Degree / Bachelor’s degree in performance or an officially recognized equivalent in Spain.
– Experience: Teaching experience at high-performance institutions will be valued, especially at undergraduate or master’s level in higher artistic education.
– Languages: Intermediate level of spoken and written English and Spanish.

PROFESSIONAL STATUS
– Contract type: Self-employed (freelance). Compensation: From €60 gross/hour, depending on profile and experience.

The Nordic Chamber Orchestra, a part of Scenkonst Västernorrland, is looking for a principal flute with some duty to play 2nd flute and subsidiary instruments for the Nordic Chamber Orchestra and the Nordic Chamber Ensemble.

The position is a permanent full-time job, which means that you currently work 70% in the Nordic Chamber Orchestra and 30% in the Nordic Chamber Ensemble.
The Nordic Chamber Orchestra’s wind players have a flexible working method where you, as principal, have a certain obligation to rotate in agreement with co-principal. As principal flutist, you therefore have some obligation to play 2nd flute.
As a member of the Nordic Chamber Ensemble, you will participate in planning chamber music productions and perform for audiences of all ages, including children, youth, and the elderly. Therefore, strong verbal communication skills with colleagues and audiences are required. The ensemble repertoire may also include playing piccola and/or alto flute.

We are looking for a musician with higher education in music and professional-level experience in orchestral and ensemble performance.

Jyväskylä Sinfonia is the pearl of classical music in the middle of Finland. Orchestra operates in Jyväskylä and visits the entire province. The orchestra reaches yearly about 40 000 listeners in our nearly 150 events from symphony concerts to cross-genre special productions and music events for audiences of all ages. Orchestra’s Chief Conductor is Italian maestro Lorenzo Passerini.

CO-PRINCIPAL FLUTE

There is an obligation to play piccolo and alto flute. In addition to playing in the large orchestra set up, the work program includes regular audience outreach in smaller ensembles.
